Punjab announces 6 pc addl dearness allowance

Chandigarh, Apr 27 (PTI) The Punjab government has released 6 per cent Additional Dearness Allowance (ADA) installment with effect from January 1, 2011, on the Central government pattern to its employees and pensioners.

According to an official notification here today, following this decision present 45 per cent dearness allowance would be increased to 51 per cent on the basic pay from January 1 this year.

The government also decided to pay the increased DA in cash from May 1, whereas the arrears from Januray 1 this year to April 30 would be credited to their GPF Accounts.

Retired Employees of the state Government would get the same in cash from Januray one this year, an official spokesperson said.
