The decision, coming after release of arrears of revised pay scales upto Rs 10,000 to class II and class IV employees, would put a burden of about Rs 225 crore on the state exchequer and the pensioners would get ten per cent arrears, subject to maximum of Rs 10,000.
The payment of arrears was "Diwali gift" to the employees and pensioners, chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal said.
