IGNOU course for CISF

CISF personnel will now be able to get formal degrees on security issues. CISF and Indira Gandhi National Open University signed an MoU on higher education on Monday under which they will be able to pursue BSc and MSc in security operations. Matriculates will be able to pursue a bridge programme. The scheme is likely to benefit especially those personnel who come from poor economic backgrounds and have not been able to pursue higher education. tnn

Some areas that will be taken up are industrial security management, access control, modus operandi of crime in industries, crime review and action plan, role of modern security gadgets, potential security threats, safety and security audit, vulnerability and risk assessment, counter-terrorism and post-defence, ambush and counter-ambush, mob psychology, disaster management, aviation security duties and VIP security.

IGNOU will also recognize the in-service training that is imparted to personnel as part of their main course. The courses will be conducted within the framework of the National Industrial Security Academy and the Regional Training Centres of CISF.
